Posted on 03/28/2024 05:00 AM (Catholic Online > Prayer of the Day)
Father of Mercy,
forgive my failings,
keep me in Your Grace,
and lead me in the way of salvation.
Give me strength in serving You
as a follower of Christ.
May the Eucharist bring me Your Forgiveness
and give me freedom to serve You all my life.
May it help me to remain faithful
and give me the grace I need in Your service.
May it teach me the way to eternal life.
Holy Thursday: He Loves to the End
Posted on 03/28/2024 05:00 AM ()
Jesus Christ has loved us to the very end. There is great spiritual
profit to be found in meditating on those words. They might give the
impression that Christ has loved us, and now that he has done that, it
is over. But it is not over. It is not simply that Christ has loved; it
is that he continually, constantly and permanently loves. He also loves
in us and through us. Jesus loves because He Is Love. Jesus
heals, because he is the Love Who Heals. He gives himself to us because ...
HOLY THURSDAY: What is the foot washing ceremony and why does it matter?
Posted on 03/28/2024 05:00 AM ()
Why did Jesus wash the Disciples' feet? It seems like such a humiliating task, yet it's also personal, almost intimate. That Jesus performed this task as one of His last acts on Earth delivers an important message of how we are supposed to be as Christians. Are we willing to wash the feet of our neighbors?
Prayer for a Sick Person # 4: Prayer of the Day for Wednesday, March 27, 2024
Posted on 03/27/2024 05:00 AM (Catholic Online > Prayer of the Day)
Dear Jesus,
Divine Physician and Healer of the Sick,
we turn to You in this time of illness.
O dearest Comforter of the Troubled,
alleviate our worry and sorrow with Your gentle love,
and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden.
Dear God,
we place our worries in Your hands.
We ask that You restore Your servant to health again.
Above all,
grant us the grace to acknowledge Your holy will
and know that whatsoever You do,
You do for the love of us.
Amen.

Posted on 03/27/2024 05:00 AM ()
The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian faith. It is at the heart of our Catholic belief. But why? Does it deserve this distinction? How do we know this is real?
Prayer before Confession: Prayer of the Day for Tuesday, March 26, 2024
Posted on 03/26/2024 05:00 AM (Catholic Online > Prayer of the Day)
Receive my confession, O most loving and gracious Lord Jesus Christ, only hope for the salvation of my soul. Grant to me true contrition of soul, so that day and night I may by penance make satisfaction for my many sins.
Savior of the world, O good Jesus, Who gave Yourself to the death of the Cross to save sinners, look upon me, most wretched of all sinners; have pity on me, and give me the light to know my sins, true sorrow for them, and a firm purpose of never committing them again.
O ...
Who Is God? A Holy Week Reflection
Posted on 03/26/2024 05:00 AM ()
Want to know who God is? That answer will not come easily, for it involves sacrifice and death to self. There are no shortcuts; there are no "techniques" to learn. However, as Blessed John Paul II often said, "Be not afraid!" For Christ himself has died for us. Set sail on the journey of the interior life of grace and the experience of God's presence within.
Palms, Passion and Progress: Holy Week is a Continuing Call to a New Life in Christ
Posted on 03/25/2024 05:00 AM ()
Holy Week invites us to let go of self and embrace the Lord anew through continuing conversion. How desperately we all need to hear the Good news that we can begin again! The question is not whether we will mark time but how we will do so? For the Christian time is not meant to be a tyrant ruling over us with impunity. Rather, it is a teacher, inviting and instructing us to choose to enter more fully into our relationship with the Lord and in Him to make progress on the Path of Life.

Dear St. Anthony, your prayers obtained miracles during your lifetime. You still seem to move at ease in the realm of minor and major miracles. St. Anthony, Performer of Miracles, please obtain for me the blessings God holds in reserve who serve Him. Pray that I may be worthy of the promises my Lord Jesus attaches to confident prayer. (Mention your special intentions.)
