Enjoy the events happening in Baton Rouge and surrounding parish areas for Black History Month that commemorate and honor the culture and traditions of African Americans and their impact on US history.

The Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) Channel proudly offers you a new lineup of films and turns a lens on you to celebrate the moments, memories and people in Black history that will inspire you. Tune in Monday, February 19 at 8PM CST to watch We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges and Universities;  and then watch, The 1953 Baton Rouge Bus Boycott which airs at 9:30PM CST on the same evening.

Both the East Baton Rouge Public Library System and the West Baton Rouge Museum offer exhibits, movie screenings and trivia games for all ages that honor Black History Month.

Engage and educate our youth with suggested readings and suggested movies that will illuminate their knowledge and interests in their Black history.

Both Southern University and A&M College, our City's own HBCU, and Louisiana State University, our state's flagship university, offer a myriad of events that celebrate Black History Month.
